The rule is you multiply by two and then add two.
This means that 40 would be paired with 82 and 9 would be paired with 20.

a.) This is Arithmetic Sequences, the rule is 2n+2=
Example: 2•3+2=8

b.) The second numbers in the sequences are
40 is paired with 82
9 is paired with 20
* I figured out these problems with instead 7 is paired with 14 I changed it to 7 is paired with 16 because that is the only way I could get anything to work*

A.) The best rule I could come up with is 2n+2. This rule works for every pair, except for 7 and 14.
B.) Using the rule above, 40 would be paired with 82 and 9 would be paired with 20.

The rule is when you go up from 0 you add two to the number that is paired with 0 so if you got 2 then you would get 6 because when you got 0 the pair was 2 and when you got 4 and so on.If you get 9 the pair would be 18 and for 40 the pair would be 80.
